I made it a point to watch last night's program mainly to see the old
tapes of Ted with Morrie Schwartz, and to hear Mitch Albom speak about
his time with the old professor. "Tuesdays With Morrie" is a must
read, if you haven't already read it.

Morrie had a unique attitude about death and that the experience
leading up to it should be shared. Thinking to just give Morrie
a perfunctory visit lead to a wonderful relationship and because
of the collaboration, between Morrie and Mitch, paid off Morrie's huge
medical bills so his
family wouldn't be left in debt..A truly upbeat program..
I will miss Ted!

When I was doin' the hospice volunteer training, they showed us
a tape of this, and I then read the book. ;) Now that my training is
finished, I'm amazed at the number of *Morries* out there, and I feel
positively fortunate that I'm able to spend time with some of them on a
regular basis.

Most of us will someday be a Morrie. ;)

Would that we get through it with as much grace.

Morrie is a tough act to follow, but I have seen *Morries* on
more than one occasion.
